This collection documents the embodied practices involved in traditional breadmaking in Tiflet, Morocco. Through repeated gestures of kneading, shaping, preparing, and baking, breadmaking emerges not simply as domestic labor but as a form of practical knowledge transmitted through everyday experience and intergenerational practice. The photographs preserve the relationship between body, material, tools, and working environment through which this knowledge is performed.

Fieldwork period: 2018–2022
Documented practice: Traditional breadmaking and everyday labor

Archive: Amazigh Women Archive — Phase 1: Tiflet Fieldwork
This series foregrounds the relationship between labor, embodied knowledge, and cultural continuity. Repetitive gestures involved in breadmaking demonstrate how heritage is not simply preserved as a static record of the past but continually enacted through everyday practice. By documenting these movements photographically, the collection creates a visual record of knowledge carried through the body, material practice, and lived experience.
Archival Note: The photographs in this collection form part of the Amazigh Women Archive, an independent digital documentary archive developed through fieldwork in Tiflet between 2018 and 2022.
